Season 2003-04
A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen Adapted by Craig Johnson Directed by Peter Hansen October 3 - 26, 2003 Loading Dock Theater
featuring: Local Playwright Craig Johnson's very human adaptation breathes new life into Henrik Ibsen's classic drama about a young wife and mother in 1879 small town Norway who is still very much a child herself. Ibsen, considered by many to be the father of modern drama, delivers a penetrating play about marriage, honesty and the obligation of the individual to oneself in this story of two people who are very much living in a doll's house of their own creation.
Blithe Spirit
featuring: All hell (and heaven!) break loose when a misguided medium inadvertently conjures up the ghostly first wife of a happily married novelist. Coward's improbable farce of marital strife and psychic hijinks abounds with sparkling wit and deliciously droll humor.
Orphans
featuring: The story of a petty hoodlum and his younger brother in a Philadelphia row house. When the older brother kidnaps Harold, a "businessman" with mob connections, their lives are turned upside down as Harold sets about rehabilitating the brothers. Survival, vulnerability, self-worth and redemption take center stage in this award-winning drama about three very lost souls.
